Por cá, esta versão cantada pelo havaiano Israel Kamakawiwo'ole serve de banda sonora da publicidade da Sociedade Ponto Verde, onde estão os miúdos e graúdos a ensinar a utilizar os ecopontos... Para além disso, a música faz parte da BSO do filme "Bom dia Vietnam" e aparece no filme "50 First Dates - A minha namorada tem amnésia".
